Nat Osborn Band (New York) at Moszkva Garden
Nat Osborn Band is a New York based ensemble that has one foot on either side of the Atlantic. Osborn “writes smart, punchy tunes that blend old-school Gershwin-era song craft with decidedly modern sensibilities” (Popdose). The band around him is composed of masterful musicians, who each bring their own unique musical voice to Osborn's inventive songs.
Nat was born and lives in New York City. The city’s relentless energy is in his blood and in his music, something he carries with him regardless of whatever part of the world he’s performing in. Nat’s style is, like New York, an eclectic mix of influences. A heap of soul and strong doses of funk, jazz, and indie-rock are blended into an exciting and vibrant original sound. The band has become well known for their high-energy shows, whether it’s on a large festival stage or in a sweaty basement venue.
Osborn is flying over to Europe for a series of shows in the summer of 2022 with the band’s guitarist, Dustin Carlson, who brings his signature blend of aggressive solos, inventive rhythm playing, and gorgeous textural support. They’ll team up with long-time collaborator and fellow New Yorker, bass virtuoso Mike Parker, who is based in Krakow. This trio of New Yorkers will be joined by top European musicians, including celebrated Polish saxophonist Slawek Pezda.
After nine years of European tours, the shows in 2022 will have a bittersweet feeling. The band lost a brother in 2021. Long-time drummer Damian Niewinski was one of the multitude who lost their lives during to Covid-19 pandemic. The band is dedicating this tour to his memory.
Formed in 2012, Nat Osborn Band released their debut album, The King and The Clown, in April 2013 to a sold-out crowd at the famous venue Le Poisson Rouge in New York. Following the release, the band toured tirelessly playing over two hundred concerts between the United States and Europe including appearances at SXSW and CMJ that year. They have appeared at, and often headlined, festivals on both sides of the Atlantic and been on television in eight countries.
In 2015, Nat Osborn Band released a three song EP on legendary Philadelphia based label Rope-A-Dope Records. For these recordings, the band was the first act to follow David Bowie’s Blackstar sessions in legendary studio The Magic Shop. Both the album and EP were mixed by Scott Jacoby (Vampire Weekend, John Legend) and mastered by Grammy winner Emily Lazar (Coldplay, Foo Fighters). These releases are on Spotify, iTunes, and anywhere you can find music. The band was named Best Of Brooklyn by famous radio station WNYC later that year.
The band released their first live album the fall of 2016. The recording, made while the band was on tour in Europe in 2015, was mixed by Danielle Warman (Bruce Springsteen, Phish). The release is available online on bandcamp and copies of the album are sold exclusively at shows alongside the studio albums.
In 2018, the band released a two song single “Roam” + “Drifting”. Fan favorite “Roam” has seen radio play in countries across Europe.
In February 2020, the band recorded a live concert at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC. The concert, along with an accompanying video, was released on YouTube and Bandcamp in 2021.

“The Nat Osborn Band has a rare knack for existing simultaneously in several different places at once” – The Deli NYC
“Eclectic, smart, high energy, Osborn gets his fingers into a whole bunch of different pies here and comes up with something good every time” – New York Music Daily
“Wow! What a sound” - Artie Lange, live on the Artie Lange show
“The inability to label Osborn with any one specific genre lent greatly to his appeal. Dramatic vocal runs, rolling exotic and ghostly horn melodies, and even blues fueled guitar binges; Osborn fit it all into his tightly packed arrangements. With vocal theatrics likened to Muse, and playful horn runs a la Beirut, Osborn folded different genres into his compelling repertoire.” -Flush the Fashion.
